Burning smell from hard-drive… is it completely damaged?!?
Recently I changed the caddies of my hard-drive and I think something went wrong because the drive emitted a burning plastic type smell. I’m worried that this caused damage to it…because I tried putting it into to it’s old caddie.. but it no longer switched on.. does this definetly mean that my drive is gone? is there any way to recover the files on my own somehow?

Probably the only way of retrieving the data it to replace the circuit board on the hard drive with an identical one. Most hard drive manufacturers offer a repair service but I wouldn’t expect it to be cheap. If you do repair the drive then you’d be best not to try it in either caddie but to connect it straight to the motherboard of your PC. It’s a simple case of how much you value the lost data as to whether you’d bother or just consider it a lost cause.

It could be that you are blocking the fan area and it is getting hot, making it smell a bit as well as get hot. Also. is the computer running fine? If not. your hard drive could be currupted. Best thing to do, is buy a new hard drive if worse comes to worse.

Computer could be overheating, make sure your fans are running o.k. But seems like your hard drive has had it. To get your stuff out of it, cost. Also make sure if you discard it for a new one, get some one to drill lots of holes in it. This will prevent pirates taking out your private details. And using it .

A Question to all Cincinnatians who've been to Spring Grove Cemetery?
I’ve been wondering about this for a while. This was a few years ago, and I’ve never really asked anyone about it for fear they’d think I’m a bit crazy.
It was early summer and I was learning to drive back in the cemetery because it’s so large and there are lots of narrow roads and there aren’t likely to be many cars back there at all, making it an ideal place to learn. I was with my dad and he dozed off in the car, so I decided to pull over for a bit while he napped since I’d been driving for over an hour and wanted to stretch my legs. We were at the Dexter memorial which is one of my favorite spots in the summer. The trees are beautiful, the lake is peaceful, and the memorial itself is lovely. But then I heard music. I though I left the radio on, so I went back to the car but I hadn’t. People often do yoga there on nice days so I thought someone must be by the lake near the memorial. But no one was there. I walked around the whole memorial looking for anyone, but no one was there. I even thought someone might be being buried near by and perhaps there was music for that, but nothing. The further I got from the memorial, the fainter the music became and the closer I got, the louder it was. I could only assume it was coming from inside the memorial, but as always, it was locked and chained and there were the usual webs accumulating behind the gate as though no one had been there for quite some time. The music was beautiful, almost like a music box in that it had the light tinkling quality, but it was different somehow. Almost like the high keys of a piano. Had it not been for the location, I wouldn’t have said it had a haunting quality to it at all.
I don’t believe in ghosts and this is the only thing even near a "paranormal" experience I’ve ever had, but I was curious as to whether anyone has ever experienced something similar near the Dexter memorial?

How do i fix a chair leg that my dog has chewed the finish off of?

I can’t tell you how to fix the chair, but I can tell you about a spray you can spray on stuff to keep the dog from chewing. It is called Boundary. You spray it on whatever you don’t want the puppy to chew on. The only problem is you have to do it every day. It works!

I’m looking for 2 coats for my greyhounds. The weather is starting to cool, and my 2 dogs don’t particularly care for the cold. they have a very small percentage of body fat, and the cold goes right through their fur. when they go outside their teeth start chattering and they cant wait to come back inside.

I need to find 2 somewhat thick and warm coats for my dogs.

The problem is, just about EVERYTHING i find for "dog clothing" is for little yappy dogs, or "paris hilton" style stuff with diamond studs, pink frilly crap, flowers and hearts..

I have two MALE dogs. even though they wouldn’t know the difference if i put them in something pink with hearts all over it, - I - would…..

I’ve been looking for coats for a few YEARS now and haven’t found much of anything, so, i’m turning to YOU to see if you can provide me a link.. I’m in the US, so wherever it is has to ship here, and it would be nice if they were reasonably priced as well.

I’m from the UK, so can’t recommend any specific suppliers on your side of the pond.

However, have you tried:
Your local greyhound rescue centre?
Your local dog track?

Even if you can’t find any pet shops that cater for greyhounds (they don’t cater too well for them here either, by and large), rescue centres and dog tracks should have supplies.

I asked a similar question the other day only I was looking for a coat for my Great Danes. I was looking at foal blankets, cheaper yet better quality than whats offered at petshops. Also, many horse magazines/ saddle shops have dog coats at a reasonable price. It’s just taking the time to measure your pooch to find the right fit.

Sorry I don’t have any links, but google a saddle shop near you and go in and see if they have any in stock, or what magazine they recommend you order from.

Your best bet is to contact the rescue group you got your guys from. That’s who I’ve bought all my greyhound coats from. They’re made by greyhound people, very warm, and they fit the greys really, really well. Most places let you select your colors, too.

There’s a local lady in Milwaukee who makes a living doing dog coats, and specializing in greyhounds. You’re searching on the wrong wording–type in ‘doggie coats’ or ‘dog coats’ and you’ll find the right stuff.

Check out Premier’s Fido Fleece. They do come in some "girly" patterns, but there are some more subdued options as well. I have one for my puppy (she is a 7lb Havanese girl, mind you) but I have seen the same coats on Italian Greyhounds as well - and the sizing does go pretty large, so I suspect you might find one to fit your guys as well.

I bought my dog an animate coat because he feels the cold terribly, they are reflective, waterproof and windproof and he absolutely loves it. I bought him the one with the underneath/chest piece first, and was disappointed because it rubbed his armpits and made them sore, but the one with just the strap fastening is excellent. You can find them on ebay, and they come in a range of sizes. (I’m not sure if the link i’m giving you ships to US hence me mentioning ebay)

How to change Region code of DVD player in Dell Laptop?
Hi, I recently reinstalled the OS (Windows XP Home Premium) on my Dell Laptop(Inspiron 5150). After that I am unable to play any CDs or DVDs in the DVD+RW drive(manufacturer:NEC). I saw that the Region of the Player is set to 1. I want to reset it to 5 as I am located in India now(I had bought the laptop in the US earlier). I checked that my user has Administrator Privileges(from Control Panel –> User Accounts). I also have Changes Remaining = 4 , in the DVD Player. There, when I tried to change the region to 5, it gives error with message "DVD Region change error - Please check that you have Administrator Privileges and there is a media in the drive". Then I put a region 5 media, e.g a CD into the drive and tried to change the region again, but it again gives the same error. Can anybody please help me , how to change the region to 5 ? Inspite of having a DVD+RW player, I am unable to play any DVDs/CDs, how sad ! Please help…

The pickiest anime/manga search EVER.?
I am looking for a new manga or anime to watch. My list of previously seen animes/read mangas: many. I like Comedy/romance with a little action, but it’s got to be funny. Favorite animes had a good mix or romance and comedy or were just addicting (aka had good storyline or something to lure you in). Hated animes/mangas were either too long, not interesting, not funny, or the end of the story was left for shit.

Show me 5 mangas and or animes I haven’t see or kiss your best answer score good bye. Mangas should either be completed or have at least 50 chapters. Animes same deal. Show me anything that’s on Onemanga.com (I happen to work it so I know of all the mangas there) you can kiss your best answer good bye. Same with repeating anything I said in the list above, I didn’t write that for my health. I’m an ass and I know it, but I’m frustrated with running out of good stuff to read. You have your work cut out for you so good luck and thank you for your time.
Seen NEon genesis evangelionthat gets a $. Hated how that ended, along with elfen lied and azumanga daioh. I’ve also seen GTO which I forgot to post up.
Ugh the more posts there are the more animes I remeber seeing. I’ve seen To-love ru, $inuyasha, and $Fma

1. Anime Baccano!. a must watch for those who love mafia story, can handle bloodbath, and ready to get LOL by the most idiot but warmhearted thieves couple. There’s no lead characters, instead the anime is about numerous characters that brought together by series incident interrelated to one another. You might get confused watching it, but probably you can’t stop watching it either, just like me.
2. Anime/Manga Bamboo Blade. About a teacher/kendo instructor who having bet with his former sempai in high school on practice match between their female student. Kojirou (the teacher’s name) only have one disciple, so he must find another before the match. almost no romance, but it’s funny and makes me interest in kendo.
3. Anime/manga Black Cat. About a former assassin who abandon his organization after an important friend get killed (thus he made promise to himself not to kill anymore), then he partnered with former investigator and clone hybrid teenager as sweeper to catches criminal.
4. Anime/manga Paradise Kiss. About a girl who dislike fashion world but dragged into it and as she learn more about it, she begin to like it. based on manga with same title.
5. Manga: Until Death Do Us Part. About a precog teen (premonition) who being chased by many organization because her ability. Then she asked for help from blind swordsman (I know, a bit cliche but the story and character surprisingly likable) to protect her until death do us part.

Watch Naruto!!! Looks like you haven’t read it either, so you should.

It’s definitly on Onemanga, and there’s definately more than 50 chapters.

Escaflowne- It’s like Inuyasha, but alot better. The show actually has an ending O.O

Divergence Eve/Misaki Chronicles- This anime was confusing as heck, is rated mature, but the storyline was addicting.

Heat Guy J- Can be dry the first two episodes, but the plot picks up and gets interesting. If you don’t mind dub, the guy who voices Ichigo in Bleach voices one of the main characters (not the hero, but the villian. The artwork is different from a good number of anime, but it’s always nice to break out of the normal "anime mode" once in a while. Too much of the same stuff gets boring.

X- I keep hearing this classic anime is pretty good, but I can’t find it anywhere (I don’t watch anime on the internet, so I’m limited in what I have seen). Anyways, the movie based off the show is great. Lots of stuff going on.

Slayers- Probably not something you’re into, but Slayers is an action comedy mix. It has a lighter comedic stance on stuff, meaning it doesn’t go too far with some of the jokes……..and isn’t even as perverse as the newer comedies. If you’re tired of the same action comedy, Slayers provides a good old carefree break from the other stuff. The artwork is not well done or anything, but that adds to the comey. Besides, watching anime is not ALL about the artwork.

>>GunXSword-From the creators of Cowboy Bebop. The characters look the same from the show. Also, it’s based on a futuristic setting. Now, GunXSword is not EXACTLY like Cowboy Bebop. It has it’s own plot and livelyhood. The main character is a girl named Wendy, who is trying to find here older brother (who was kidnapped………at first). There’s a good mix of action, comedy, and even anticipation for the next episode.

>>Cyborg Soldier 009-A remake of the 1970’s Cyborg 009, this show provides some aspects that were taken from the classic of classic anime and restored such to a now modern theme. The art is old style, similar to what Osamu Tezuka would use (like the 1930’s Walt Disney and Ub Thurman styles), but has it’s modern take. This aspect makes the show rather interesting. The plot is more developed compared to the 1970’s (or 1969) version, but still follows along the lines. If you’re one for enjoying music scores, then you will definitely appreciate the orchestral themes used throughout the show. I know I’m saying a whole lot of nothing, but it’s just something you have to see for yourself.
